Avi Zimak

Chief Commercial Officer

Avi Zimak is a senior commercial executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across digital media, advertising technology, and premium publishing. He has consistently built and scaled high-performance revenue organizations, modernized go-to-market strategy, and driven diversified monetization across complex, multi-platform media businesses spanning direct, programmatic, branded content, commerce, and performance channels.

Most recently, Zimak served as Chief Growth Officer at Perion, where he advanced the company’s global commercial supply strategy and strengthened alignment across sales, product, and marketing to accelerate scalable, data-driven growth across agency and brand partnerships.

Prior to Perion, he was Chief Revenue & Strategy Officer at The Arena Group, overseeing enterprise revenue strategy across a portfolio of more than 150 media brands, including Sports Illustrated and TheStreet. In that role, he unified national sales organizations, expanded integrated partnerships across holding companies and Fortune 500 marketers, enhanced cross-platform monetization capabilities, and contributed to the company’s strategic M&A activity — including the acquisitions of Parade and Men’s Journal — culminating in its public listing on the NYSE.

Earlier, Zimak served as Chief Revenue Officer and Publisher at New York Media (NYM), where he led all advertising and marketing functions across a nationally recognized portfolio of media properties, advancing premium, multi-channel solutions for major brand partners. His tenure preceded NYM’s acquisition by Vox Media.

He previously held senior leadership roles at Outbrain, where he led the Americas revenue organization during a period of significant global expansion, deepening strategic relationships with leading agencies, brands, and platform partners as performance content marketing scaled internationally.

Zimak began his career at several of the world’s most respected media institutions — Hearst, Condé Nast, and Time Inc. — developing foundational expertise within large-scale publishing operations.

He recently completed the Executive Chief Revenue Officer Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, further strengthening his focus on enterprise growth strategy and commercial leadership.

Zimak lives with his wife and three daughters in Chatham, NJ.
